The Diocese of North Ankole is located on Rushere hill, Kiruhura Diocese, Western Uganda. The Diocese shares the same geographical boundaries with Kiruhura and Kazo Dioceses respectively. The Diocese covers 4,608sq Km of which 2% is open water and wetlands. The area experience a bio-modal pattern rainy seasons, which normally occur in March – May and Mid August – October. Notwithstanding rainy seasons, the area is affected by long dry spells with temperatures ranging between 17°C – 30°C.

North Ankole is Evangelical in essence that believes in the Holy Scriptures and belongs to the Family of the Holy Catholic Church and is here to reach out to People for Christ, enhance institutional Capacity building towards Holistic Development.
This subsector sector is comprised of five sub-sectors of Agriculture, Veterinary Services, Entomology as well as Trade and Industry. The sector is supported by local governments to ensures that appropriate institutional linkages are maintained with all relevant sector agencies;
There are 24 registered SACCOS in the Diocese (as of December 2014), 18 cooperatives are registered with the District of Kiruhura. The Diocese has a total of 45 markets and 165 milk coolers with average capacity of 3,000 liters each. The Farmers in the Diocese sells 492,000 liters daily.
The cost of higher education and primary education has greatly increased, this is caused mainly by the rapid population growth. The Church schools can no longer hold the ever increasing number of children. The private schools charge high school fees. On average, there are three children per home and each child pays 150,000sh in rural schools per term. The family, spends 450,000sh, Which averagely form the total family income!.
The Diocese has the highest prevalent rate of HIV and AIDS at 7%, much more than the country percentage which is 6%. The corruption in the health sector has humped health service delivery. The government health units are understaffed, lack medicines and have poor infrastructure. This condition has left people in the Diocese to resort to private sector for medical care which is very expensive.
